These drawings were done in 1991 and at that time there was a picnic table in a grassy area that was at the entrance of a park just to the north of the Marina and the pier which you see in the first piece. there was also a small gravel ramp into the water that I believe was a boat launch from years ago that was no longer used. In 2010, I went back to that area and they were in the middle of removing this little grassy entrance to the park that had a picnic table that I sat at when I drew these drawings. I sat there day after day at that picnic table putting every detail possible into the drawings. In the very first piece, one on the left you can see the Narrows bridge and you can also see where it used to be known as "The Smelter" that was in Ruston. Within a year or two after I drew this, the smelter was taken down for ecological reasons. So I feel proud to have it in this drawing, because it is no longer there and those who remember it being in their skyline all these years can look at this and see it still there. I hope you enjoy these pictures as I did when I drew them, and as I do when I look at them.
